As an Agricultural Scientist, you will conduct research of crops and animals aimed at improving farming techniques to enhance the efficiency and profitability of farm businesses.

Working as an agronomist you’ll be investigating ways of improving soil productivity to maximise the production of consistently high quality crops without harming the environment.

As an Animal Nutritionist, your job will be to make sure that the dietary needs of animals are met effectively; you’ll also raise levels of knowledge about the effects of diet on the welfare and productivity of animals by providing advice and information on the topic.

You’ll either run your own farm business or be employed to manage the business effectively on behalf of someone else.

You’ll be working in the countryside managing land for hunting and fishing purposes, and making sure that game such as pheasants, partridges, hares, deer and grouse thrive.

As a general farm worker you’ll carry out practical work on livestock, arable or mixed farms

As a Horticultural Technician you’ll grow and nurture plants, vegetables, fruit, trees, shrubs and flowers.
You could be working in an educational or research establishment or for a commercial enterprise such as a landscape contractor or market gardener.
